Vancouver opens first Private Hospital in Canada

Canada is about to see the end of public health care for private health as Vancouver, BC, opens it first emergency clinic to people who want to pay a $200.00 walk in fee and get fast service. Why wait at an emergency room for hours when you can slap down 200 bucks and get instant service for one of these clinics. Many politicians locally, provinical and federal disagree with this service and vow to either fine them for health care act violations or attempt to shut them down but that remains to be seen.

This story has been going on for years on whether a private clinic could open up in Canada and start charging for their service to those who want to pay the price. The Federal Government has voiced their opinions but noboby has every really attempted to shut down one of these clinics if opened and now the day has come when Canada is about to possible lose the public system for the over charged American System. Of course the clinics says they are abiding by the guidelines but the problem is under 2003 BC legistation doctors who work for the public service can not work the private sector and will be fined 10k for the first offense and 20k for the second. These measures were brought in to protect the public system so a doctor wont say I can't help you here but if you go to my private clinic I can help you.

As the clinic has now opened several people and organizations have stepped forward to try and get this place close but the BC Liberals have quietly allowed this to happen to begin with as it is exactly what the want. Less money spent on the public health care is good for the government spending books and an opporunity for them to start closing the public services. As doctors realize there is more money to be made in the private sector they will start there own facilities and that means less doctors will be available for the public sector. This will result in million of dollars of savings for the government as they will claim the private system is taking away many of the patients that used to use the public system, so they won't need to spend more money the health care system but decrease it. This will cause more people to run to the private system as the public system begins to break down from lack of doctors, nurse and beds until the hospitals start claiming they have extra room from private patients because public patients are too few to fill the hospital. Hospital will then need more revenue to stay open so they figure a way to incorporate private patients and the government will go along with this to save any money they can to bring down the health care cost. This will result in all the good doctors and nurses leaving the public system for more money in the private sector which will eventually destroy the public system and the burden of the government having to pay for it.

At this time no one is certain which direction this private hospital will take as they are now just taking patients and if any laws are broken you need patient reports to charge them. So expect a big debate over this and the private system winning because governments want this but don't want to admit they are allowing it to happen. This will also open the doors for American Companies opening up more clinics in Canada all for money they can rip you off with as right now $200 gets you in the door but does not pay for treatment and other cost such as taxes. Rest assured this new private clinic is not going unnoticed as it is the first of it's kind in Canada.
