[edit] Abstract

Canada receives its second 'Fossil Of The Day' label from a United Nations climate conference for its poor or lack of performance in the fight against global warming.

[edit] Details

Canada's current environment minister, Rona Ambrose, is in hot water again, this time taking fire from an international conference on climate change for Canada's lack of commitment and action to control climate change and global warming.

Ambrose has been under considerable criticism in Canada for her position against attempting to achieve the goals set out in the Kyoto protocol, which Canada has already signed. After months of delay, her ministry recently released its long anticipated environmental action plan, the Clean Air Act. Canadian critics of the act point out under the proposed act there would be no real action taken to address climate change in Canada until the year 2050.

The UN conference appears to agree with the critics as it scolded Canada with the label 'Fossil Of The Day' for the second time.
