[edit] Abstract
A U.S. government website setup to make public captured documents from the war in Iraq contains former Iraqi nuclear bomb-building plans and instructions.
[edit] Details
Since last March, a website setup by the Bush administration makes public massive amounts of captured documents from the war in Iraq. However, an article in The New York Times (Nov 3rd, 2006) alleges the presence of more than a dozen articles on that website posted in the last few weeks detailing the specific systems and processes required to build a nuclear bomb.
The website, 'Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal', has been shut down by US officials and its content is under review. This is not the first time content on this government website has been reviewed and withdrawn.
Critics argue that posting the specific instructions for building and triggering a nuclear bomb goes beyond that which is already available online. As countries like North Korea and Iran are on the brink of completing their nuclear weapons programs, posting such instructions online could be disasterous.
