[edit] Abstract

On Sunday night, around 11:30, Paris Hilton entered the Century Regional Detention Facility to start serving her 3 week jail sentence for violating her probation due to a DUI (Driving while Under the Influence).

[edit] Details

The infamous Paris Hilton is behind bars. After flaunting the laws of the land by repeatedly driving under the influence, even after she had her license taken away from her, she was sentenced to 3 weeks jail time - which she began serving last night.

Paris was seen earlier in the day at a Gala MTV red carpet affair. Sucking in as much limelight and attention as she could before trading in her strapless black dress for a prison issued uniform.

Paris will be in general population of the minimum security county jail, but in a 'special needs' unit of the facility. The 'special needs' unit of the county jail was specially built for celibrities, fallen police officers and other high-profile inmates - so it seems Hilton will be in good company.

When questioned about the serving her time in the special needs section of the jail, Hilton said "I did have a choice to go to a pay jail, but I declined because I feel like the media portrays me in a way that I'm not and that's why I wanted to go to county, to show that I can do it and I'm going to be treated like everyone else. I'm going to do the time, I'm going to do it the right way."

Apprently serving time in the special celibrity wing of the county jail (not far from downtown LA) is Paris' concept of how everyone else is treated in prison.
