[edit] Details

The life of Mike Tyson has been a wild ride as he has been in and out of prison over the last few years due to his violent nature but this time he was arrested for drug possession and bad driving. Most people would be facing a long jail term for the possession of cocaine but since Mike Tyson was a celebrity among Americans his punishment was changed from a lengthy jail sentence to only 24 hours. Most Americans would face 7 years in jail for possession, even it it was just for a little amount but not in Mike Tyson case. He decided to seek treatment for his addiction and got a few of his exwives to write letters to the judge for leniency and for some reason the judge looked upon this as a reason to let him go off easy. Sure he has to do 360 hours of community service but a 24 jail sentence has to be the shortest time any American has faced for possession of cocaine, a drug more damaging to the pocket book and health of those who constantly use it than marijuana. Yet when you become a celebrity in America the justice system attitude changes and instead of serving hardtime like everyone else a light sentence is given. If the American Justice system wants to have a two tier system for celebrities and regular folk they should put it in the law books to show Americans they are being treated unfairly. Mike Tyson is laughing because a judge believed he was on the road to recover but to Mike Tyson it was a necessary step to avoid a long jail term and he succeeded. Way to go Mike you have proven once again Celebrities can possess a huge load of drugs and not receive the same sentence as normal folk.
