[edit] Abstract
Microsoft says technical issues are to blame for slow / faulty performance of its new Xbox 360 live service which allows Xbox 360 users to download movies and TV shows on a pay-per-view basis.

Earlier this month Microsoft lauched its new online service 'LIVE' for Xbox 360 which allows users to download regular and high definition video files of movies and tv shows - for a price. The shows and movies are transferred over the internet and stored on the Xbox 360 console hard drive - for a limited period, after which they are automatically deleted.
However, many users are reporting problems with the new LIVE service, including very slow downloads, and recieving a different video file from the one they ordered and paid for.
Executives from Microsoft say the problems arise from the incredibly large number of download requests. However, Microsoft has promissed to refund users who have had problems using XBox Live.
Xbox 360 owners who have had problems using the Live system are urged to call customer support at 1-800-4MYXBOX.
