[edit] Details
Iraqi authorities are questioning members of the Iraqi police force to determine what role they played if any in the attack on a Baghdad government building. The police in custody include a brigade commander, a chief, and other officiers.
The attackers allegedly told the workers in the higher education ministry's main building that they were legitimate government forces on an official mission. The attackers went systematically through the building, separating the men from the women. Many people were kidnapped by the attackers as they got away in a convoy of getaway vehicles.
Officials seem unclear on the exact number of abducted people, but the numbers range from 60 to 150 people taken.
