At a small democratic rally, Sen. John Kerry remarked that students should study hard or else "end up in stuck in Iraq." The Republican party, desperate to raise its standing in the polls as it continues to trail the Democrats with only 6 days left until the US midterm elections, has seized upon the issue blasting Kerry with criticisms that he is against the troops and demanding an apology.

All this follows after October, one of the deadliest single months in the entire Iraq war. The increased and constant violence seems to have swayed the US public opinion away from the Rupublican's "Stay The Course" strategy for Iraq towards a more Democratic "Exit" strategy - which spells disaster for the GOP in the polls.
