SEATAC International Airport in Seattle Washington removed all 9 Christmas trees on display throughout the airport in response to a request by a Jewish rabbi to include a menorah in the holiday display.

This year's "War On Christmas" has begun in earnest as the major international airport in Seattle Washington, SEATAC, has decided to remove all its Christmas tree displays. The decision was made after a request was made by rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky to add a menorah to the holiday display.

The rabbi's lawyer also threatened to sue the airport if it didn't comply with the request.

Terri-Ann Betancourt, spokeswoman for the airport said that they removed the Christmas trees "because we didn't want to be exclusive." She said airport staff and lawyers realized that adding a menorah would require them to add symbols for any and all relevant religions in the area, and that the staff didn't have time for such projects during the busy holiday travel season.

Rabbi Bogomilsky, in response to the decision to remove the trees, said "They've darkened the hall instead of turning the lights up."
